Digital Energy: Web 2.0 PART 2- Enterprise Architecture for Social Computing

In October 2008 the Digital Energy Study Group  presented basic information about web 2.0.  This presentation is a follow –on presentation that will inform you of the basics in getting your companies information architecture correctly defined, and to equip you to begin to unleash Web 2.0 functions in your company.

The emerging web is an evolving and demanding community centric ecosystem filled with untapped opportunities. It is also an ecosystem that is inundated with buzz words, technologies, and a multitude of varying opinions about the current and future states.

From the enterprise/business perspective, there remain a number of untapped opportunities and business channels that are yet to be effectively penetrated. Web startups catering to the  business communities face the dual challenge of delivering quality services, sustaining active participation, and materializing predictable revenue streams in a space where “free” with a high bar for value is the required minimum bar for entry.

Traditional Enterprises /Businesses are constantly looking for ways to tap into the constantly evolving cloud communities to support and enhance core business functions. In the mix, there also exists significant new opportunities for professional services to initiate new related service offerings targeted at enterprises/businesses and web startups.
