The Sixth Colloquium on Petroleum Engineering Education on Lifelong Learning
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL JUNE 2004
The Society of Petroleum Engineers and The Association of Heads of U.S. Petroleum
Engineering Schools want to encourage all those concerned with educating, training, and
recruiting petroleum industry professionals to attend The Sixth Colloquium on Petroleum
Engineering Education. The Colloquium will be held 3-6 August 2003 at the Colorado
School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, U.S.A.
This Lifelong Learning Colloquium has been designed to provide an opportunity for
representatives from industry, government, and academia to work together to enhance
educational opportunities in science and math, from the very fundamental beginnings to
post-graduate work in a university environment. Another objective of the Colloquium is
to develop a better joint understanding of the industry's training needs and discuss how
academia can help fill those needs. Current and evolving roles of academia, industry, and
government in lifelong learning will be discussed.
We encourage you to forward the enclosed Registration Brochure to the appropriate
person or persons in your organization who are active in petroleum engineering
education, training, or recruiting. Particularly valuable to the discussion will be
individuals with a range of industry and education experience.
We hope to see your organization represented at this significant event.
