In early 2013, Southwestern Energy (SWN) committed to achieve ' Fresh Water Neutral' by 2016 and launched our ECH2O (Energy Conserving Wat er) initiative to address the many challenges our industry faces regarding our use of water in unconventional resource plays. This presentation wil l discuss how SWN will implement its ECH2O initiative for existing fields as well as new areas where we are just starting. Our focus has been direct ed at four key areas of water use and water management: Protection, Reduct ion, Innovation, and Conservation. An overview of each of these areas wil l highlight our projects that are directed at the protection of surface an d groundwater resources, reduction of fresh water volumes and the use of a lternatives to fresh water.
