Although it has been generally rega rded that &ldquo\;spent scavengers are corrosion inhibitors&rdquo\; for so me time, this paper uses this generally held belief as a starting point an d greatly expands upon this observation. The active species has been ident ified by analytical methods, isolated from the spent fluid and formulated into highly effective corrosion inhibitors. This is believed to be a uniqu e synergistic chemical recycling process. The application of one chemical product, in its actual operation, acts as a means to chemically synthesize a second chemical in a very highly pure state, such that it can be separa ted and formulated into a second chemical product, namely a corrosion inhi bitor. Analytical data and structural confirmation of the active species a re presented together with data to verify its corrosion inhibition propert ies and also the synergistic formulation of this intermediate to further i mprove its corrosion inhibition properties. It is believed that this work represents an example of chemical recycling rarely, if ever, seen in our i ndustry.\r\n\r\n\n\n--- This iCal file does *NOT* confirm registration.Eve nt details subject to change. ---\r\n\r\n--- By Tendenci - The Open Source AMS for Associations ---\r\n UID:uid1825@spegcs.org SUMMARY:Permian Basin: The Isolation and Formulation of Highly Effective Corrosion Inhibitors from the Waste Product of Hexahydrotriazine-based Hydrogen Sulph DTSTART:20111115T173000Z DTEND:20111115T190000Z CLASS:PUBLIC PRIORITY:5 DTSTAMP:20240329T102209Z TRANSP:OPAQUE SEQUENCE:0 LOCATION:Courtyard on St James X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
This presentation describes the isolation and formulation of highly effective corrosion inhibitors from the waste product of hexahydro triazine based hydrogen sulphide scavengers. Although it has been generall y regarded that &ldquo\;spent scavengers are corrosion inhibitors&rdquo\; for some time, this paper uses this generally held belief as a starting po int and greatly expands upon this observation. The active species has been identified by analytical methods, isolated from the spent fluid and formu lated into highly effective corrosion inhibitors. This is believed to be a unique synergistic chemical recycling process. The application of one che mical product, in its actual operation, acts as a means to chemically synt hesize a second chemical in a very highly pure state, such that it can be separated and formulated into a second chemical product, namely a corrosio n inhibitor. Analytical data and structural confirmation of the active spe cies are presented together with data to verify its corrosion inhibition p roperties and also the synergistic formulation of this intermediate to fur ther improve its corrosion inhibition properties. It is believed that this work represents an example of chemical recycling rarely, if ever, seen in our industry.
