Her clients and deal work span every major basin in the lower 48 including Big Horn, Wind River, DJ, Piceance, Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Gulf Coast, Arkoma, and Anadarko Basins. She has advised boards, C-suite, and executive management teams across 3 continents and 6 countries. Dale’s 36 year career with Marathon has spanned a variety of technical, commercial and leadership positions.  Those roles have included technical and management opportunities within most of the major US onshore basins, offshore GOM and offshore West Africa.  He has also held Director level positions within the company’s technology and business development teams.


Dale holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, is a Registered Professional Engineer and serves on the Board of the Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA).

Greg Bensen is the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for bpx Energy, the onshore US division of BP p.l.c., based in Denver, Colorado.  He and his team focus on optimizing and enhancing the value of bpx’s portfolio to support BP’s aims and ambitions.


Greg joined bpx in 2017 and was Head of Planning, Communication and Community Engagement prior to leading the M&A team.  He also served as Head of Midstream during which time he and the midstream team secured multiple material third party renegotiations resulting in significant cost savings.  Prior to that he worked as finance manager for the San Juan business unit.


Prior to bpx, Greg worked at Fidelity Investments where he was an equity research analyst covering the US and Canadian upstream, oilfield service and midstream sectors.  Prior to Fidelity, Greg worked in investor relations, communications and corporate development at QEP Resources.  Before QEP, Greg was on the award-winning investor relations team at Halliburton in Houston and worked as in equity analyst at Denver-based Marsico Capital Management. 


Greg holds a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Colorado, where he co-developed a highly cited global seismic imaging technique and earned a B.S in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
