Wenyi Hu received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC, USA, in 2005. From 2005 to 2009, he was a Research Scientist at Schlumberger-Doll Research. He joined ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company in 2009 and worked there as a Senior Research Specialist. From March 2013 to May 2021, he was the Vice President of Research at Advanced Geophysical Technology working on a variety of R&D projects on tackling large-scale forward and inverse problems for the oil and gas industry. Currently, he is the Global ML/AI Scientist – Subsurface at Schlumberger. His active research spans different areas of applied geophysics for petroleum exploration and production and energy transition, including seismic imaging, inversion, and modelling, electromagnetics modelling & inversion, signal processing, and deep learning and data analytics. He has more than 60 technical publications and has 13 US patents / patent applications

Nelia Mazula is a Global Account Manager for Siemens. She has 20 years of experience in the energy process industries focused on digital transformation strategies. She was a founder of 1 start-up and an early employee for 2 software start-ups purchased by Siemens and has held numerous management and leadership positions.  She has numerous software certificates and several published technical papers on digital strategies. Nelia speaks 4 languages and has 5 engineering software patents. She has been featured in numerous media outlets as a community and innovation leader including KPRC News, Univision and The Houston Chronicle. As a result of her work, she was featured in the National Inventor’s Museum. Nelia is a certified professional project manager, holds a bachelors in chemical engineering from Arizona State University and an international MBA focused in international business and digital strategy from INSEAD university.

Dr. Rita Esuru Okoroafor is an Assistant Professor at the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering, Texas A&M University. Dr. Okoroafor’s research and teaching involves the application of Petroleum Engineering principles in the Energy Transition. A former Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University, and Principal Reservoir Engineer with Schlumberger, Dr. Okoroafor’s 15-year experience touches on geothermal energy, CCUS, underground energy storage, and different disciplines with the petroleum industry. She was instrumental in deploying the first digital oilfield deep offshore Nigeria. Dr. Okoroafor is a recipient of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Africa Region Reservoir Dynamics and Description Award (2017), SPE International Young Member Outstanding Service Award (2016), and SPE Africa Region Young Member Outstanding Service Award (2014).
