Wendy King is vice president, Gulf Coast and Rockies for ConocoPhillips. She leads a team responsible for development and operations of the company’s Eagle Ford and Bakken assets.


She assumed this role in 2022 after serving as vice president of the Gulf Coast business unit and vice president of the Great Plains business unit. King’s previous leadership roles within ConocoPhillips include serving the Australia East business unit as president, Australia Pacific LNG as vice president, Commercial, and the Alaska business unit as vice president, External Affairs, and manager, Alaska North Slope Gas Development.


King began her career as a petroleum engineer with Conoco and has held various technical and leadership positions in exploration and production functions in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Africa.


Externally, King serves on the board of the Texas Oil and Gas Association and as a member of the Texas State Energy Plan Advisory Committee. She previously served as a board member for the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AmCham), the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, the University of Alaska, the Resource Development Council of Alaska and the United Way of Anchorage board.


She received a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

His technical contributions have been acknowledged with many awards during his career, including SPE Lester C. Uren Award (2014), Cedric K. Ferguson Medal (1994), and Distinguished Membership. In 2017, he was elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering for his significant theoretical and practical contributions to enhanced oil recovery and CO2 sequestration. Dr. Dindoruk was Data Science and Engineering Analytics Technical Director of the SPE and a member of the Advisory Committee of the SPE Reservoir Dynamics and Description Technical Discipline. He has been active in various editorial positions under SPE and also Elsevier. Currently he is the Editor In Chief for all SPE Journals. Prior to this assignment, VanGilder has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Kazakhstan, Angola, and the United States.


VanGilder serves on the West Virginia University Petroleum Engineering Advisory Committee, which is responsible for ensuring graduating students have the necessary skills to be marketable.

Lyndal Cissell is Vice President and Managing Director of North America Offshore, Schlumberger, a position she assumed in July 2020.  Lyndal is responsible for Atlantic & Eastern Coast Canada, Gulf Coast and Alaska operations.  


Prior to this role, she was the Vice President of M-I SWACO in North America Land, a division of Schlumberger.  In addition, Lyndal held a number of management roles, including Director of Global Operations for Drilling and Measurements HQ, located in Houston, and Operations Manager in Stavanger, Norway. 


With over 17 years of experience within Drilling & Measurement and Directional Drilling, Lyndal held various operations management and business development positions.  She joined Schlumberger in 2002 as a M/LWD engineer for Drilling & Measurements operations in Calgary, Canada.


Lyndal serves on the Executive Committee for National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA).  She serves as the Vice Chair of Education for Offshore Energy Center (OEC) part of the Ocean Star Museum in Galveston. 


Lyndal earned an Honors Petroleum Engineering Technology degree from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Alberta Canada.

Following LSU, he worked for Mobil Oil as an exploration geologist in the Gulf of Mexico and lived in Australia for 5 years while working on exploration projects on the NW Shelf of Australia. Rick then came to work for Halliburton, first working within the Landmark Software service line and then focused on Consulting and Project Management. In 1999, Alexa joined the company as a reservoir engineer in Lafayette, LA. Chris Riley is an engineering manager with 20 years of diverse energy industry expertise, with a majority of his career spent in upstream oil and gas at Shell.  He has worked in a variety of leadership positions, including roles as the Development Manager for Shell’s Deep Basin project in Western Canada, an area manager in Shell's Permian Basin Asset in West Texas, and as the Development Manager for Perdido. Perdido is the world’s deepest spar and second deepest offshore production platform. He is a Senior Reservoir and Production Engineer with more than 20 years of industry and R&D experience. Previously, he worked in Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) were he held leadership positions in Production Engineering and Strategic Planning. Dr. Alvarez’s technical expertise involves asset development, production, facilities and process engineering, cross functional pilots, improved-oil-recovery (IOR) and EOR processes in Unconventional, Heavy Oil and Conventional reservoirs. He is the Author of several journals and technical papers on IOR/EOR in Unconventional Reservoirs and Heavy Oil. Dr. Alvarez currently serves as the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) SPE Co-Chair, SPE Midland Basin Energy Conference Co-Chair, SPE ATCE Reservoir Engineering Chair, SPEi Young Member Outstanding Award Subcommittee member, SPE RTA/PTA Workshop committee member and SPE LACPEC Technical Committee Member. He also serves as technical editor for the SPE Journals, and he has served as SPE Reservoir Advisory Committee member. Dr. Alvarez is a Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Department Industry Board member. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, MSc from Stanford University and BSc from Universidad Simon Bolivar, both in Chemical Engineering.
