Wendy King is vice president, Gulf Coast and Rockies for ConocoPhillips. She leads a team responsible for development and operations of the company’s Eagle Ford and Bakken assets.

She assumed this role in 2022 after serving as vice president of the Gulf Coast business unit and vice president of the Great Plains business unit. King’s previous leadership roles within ConocoPhillips include serving the Australia East business unit as president, Australia Pacific LNG as vice president, Commercial, and the Alaska business unit as vice president, External Affairs, and manager, Alaska North Slope Gas Development.

King began her career as a petroleum engineer with Conoco and has held various technical and leadership positions in exploration and production functions in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Africa.

Externally, King serves on the board of the Texas Oil and Gas Association and as a member of the Texas State Energy Plan Advisory Committee. She previously served as a board member for the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AmCham), the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, the University of Alaska, the Resource Development Council of Alaska and the United Way of Anchorage board.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Dr. Dindoruk is well-known for his extensive work on thermodynamics of phase behavior/EOS development and experimental work, interaction of phase behavior and flow in porous media, enhanced oil recovery and CO2 sequestration, and correlative methodologies. His technical contributions have been acknowledged with many awards during his career, including SPE Lester C. Uren Award (2014), Cedric K. Ferguson Medal (1994), and Distinguished Membership. In 2017, he was elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering for his significant theoretical and practical contributions to enhanced oil recovery and CO2 sequestration. Dr. Dindoruk was Data Science and Engineering Analytics Technical Director of the SPE and a member of the Advisory Committee of the SPE Reservoir Dynamics and Description Technical Discipline. He has been active in various editorial positions under SPE and also Elsevier. Currently he is the Editor In Chief for all SPE Journals. Dr. Dindoruk is a Director at Interaction of Phase Behavior and Flow (IPB&F) Consortium at University of Houston.

Bevin VanGilder, 41, is the upstream carbon reduction director for Chevron Corporation, a position she has held since April 2021.  She is responsible for working across the upstream organization to help deliver Chevron’s lower carbon strategy with a focus on lowering the carbon intensity of its current operations.

Prior to this assignment, VanGilder has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Kazakhstan, Angola, and the United States.

VanGilder serves on the West Virginia University Petroleum Engineering Advisory Committee, which is responsible for ensuring graduating students have the necessary skills to be marketable.

VanGilder joined Chevron in 2003. She earned a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in petroleum engineering and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Tim Duncan is a founder, President and CEO of Talos Energy.  Prior to Talos Energy, Mr. Duncan was the Senior Vice President of Business Development and a founder of Phoenix Exploration Company LP, where he was responsible for Phoenix's business development evaluations and negotiations, including the sale of the company to a group of buyers led by Apache Corporation. Prior to Phoenix, he was Manager of Reservoir Engineering and Evaluations for Gryphon Exploration Company. Mr. Duncan also worked in various reservoir engineering and portfolio evaluation functions for Amerada Hess Corporation, Zilkha Energy Company, and Pennzoil E&P Company.

In 2013, Talos Energy was named by Houston Chronical as the #1 Top Workplace in the Houston area for companies under 150 employees and has maintained a position on the list of Top Workplaces for the last nine years. In June 2016, Mr. Duncan was named as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the Energy & Energy Services sector in the Gulf Coast Area.

Mr. Duncan is the past Chairman (2021-2022) and past Vice Chair (2020-2021) of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) and serves on their board of directors. He is a member of the board of directors of Chesapeake Energy Corporation and of the American Cancer Society’s CEO’s Against Cancer. He also serves on various academically focused advisory boards, including the College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Council and the Foundation Board at Mississippi State University. Mr. Duncan holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University and an MBA from the Bauer Executive Program at the University of Houston.

Lyndal Cissell is Vice President and Managing Director of North America Offshore, Schlumberger, a position she assumed in July 2020.  Lyndal is responsible for Atlantic & Eastern Coast Canada, Gulf Coast and Alaska operations.  

Prior to this role, she was the Vice President of M-I SWACO in North America Land, a division of Schlumberger.  In addition, Lyndal held a number of management roles, including Director of Global Operations for Drilling and Measurements HQ, located in Houston, and Operations Manager in Stavanger, Norway. 

With over 17 years of experience within Drilling & Measurement and Directional Drilling, Lyndal held various operations management and business development positions.  She joined Schlumberger in 2002 as a M/LWD engineer for Drilling & Measurements operations in Calgary, Canada.

Lyndal serves on the Executive Committee for National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA).  She serves as the Vice Chair of Education for Offshore Energy Center (OEC) part of the Ocean Star Museum in Galveston. 

Lyndal earned an Honors Petroleum Engineering Technology degree from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Alberta Canada.  

Lyndal lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and two sons.  She is a strong advocate and active member for Autism Speaks, as well as a proud U.S. Navy Mom. 

Dr. Amanda Rico specializes in resume building, editing, and career solutions for senior and executive-level professionals. With 15+ years of experience ranging from crafting materials for TEDx speakers to optimizing profiles for Oil, Gas & Clean Energy professionals, she is passionate about helping forward-thinking leaders level up.

A career columnist for the Houston Business Journal and Oilwoman magazine, Dr. Rico has a proven track record of working alongside public officials, career diplomats, and corporate E&P executives such as Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Ambassador Kay Bailey Hutchison, Jeff Immelt, Jeff Shellebarger, and Jeff Miller. She is also an official SunCast Clean Energy Career Mentor, a NASA workshop presenter, and was recognized as one of the Transition Economist’s 2021 Top 100 Women in the Energy Transition.

Dr. Rico earned her Ph.D. in English at Texas A&M University and her M.A. and B.A. in English from the University of Oklahoma.

Rick has spent 30+ years as a geologist, starting as a wellsite geologist working in Wyoming and Colorado before returning to school at LSU. Following LSU, he worked for Mobil Oil as an exploration geologist in the Gulf of Mexico and lived in Australia for 5 years while working on exploration projects on the NW Shelf of Australia. Rick then came to work for Halliburton, first working within the Landmark Software service line and then focused on Consulting and Project Management. With Halliburton he has worked and lived in Houston, Malaysia and Kuwait. Through over 18 years with Halliburton he has been working on asset development and technology application in conventional and unconventional projects, including the first major unconventional reservoir development in Kuwait. For the past 3 years Rick has been applying Halliburton’s expertise across Halliburton Product Service Lines in Halliburton’s North America Land Sustainability group, working with clients on CCS and geothermal projects. He works with teams that deliver subsurface assessment, supporting Class VI permitting requirements and with Halliburton’s experts delivering well design, execution and long-term monitoring for CCUS and geothermal wells in the field.

Nicole Champenoy is the Asset Class Director for Shale and Tight assets for Chevron Corporation, a position she has held since December 2021.  She is responsible for enabling and supporting teaming, communication and alignment between functions and business units to develop and recommend strategies including priorities, strategic improvement opportunities and innovate across the enterprise for Shale and Tight. Additionally, she has a passion for employee development and works to ensure development and training opportunities are leveraged for S&T skills advancement.

Prior to this role Nicole was the Asset Manager for Chevron’s Permian Assets in New Mexico as well as Chevon’s East Texas Assets. She has worked in S&T for almost 10 years teaching technical content, advising on development planning, leading Permian development as well as improving subsurface performance.

Nicole began her career as a petroleum engineer and joined Chevron in 2006, she has held various technical and leadership positions in in the technical center, the business units, and corporate teams. Her background includes reservoir simulation, asset planning and development, water flood optimization and Shale and Tight performance prediction and planning.

Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida in December 2001 and then proceeded to get her masters while working full time and graduated from the University of Houston with her master’s in petroleum engineering in 2008.

Nicole is married to her husband Jamy of 18 years and they have 3 sons that keep them busy and active with their various interest and hobbies.

Abhi Kohli has over 10 years’ experience in Petroleum Engineering disciplines and Front-End Project Management. After starting his career in India, he worked as an Operational Petrophysicist at PDO, Oman which was followed by an assignment in the Netherlands. He then went on to work in Iraq before returning to the Netherlands as an Opportunity Lead for Abandonment & New Energy projects. He currently works as the Area Development Lead for CCS projects in the US. His expertise lies in Integrated Reservoir Modelling and subsurface uncertainty analysis. He has co-/authored 8 technical publications. He is an active SPE member and currently the secretary for SPE Gulf Coast Section. He holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology – ISM Dhanbad, India and enjoys playing poker and going on long bike rides in his free time.

Paul Pastusek is the Drilling Mechanics Advisor at ExxonMobil. His expertise is in rig instrumentation, control, and automation, drill string dynamics, steerable systems, borehole quality, bit applications, cutting mechanics, and failure analysis.  He received the 2020 SPE International and 2017 Gulf Coast Drilling Engineering Awards, and is giving a series of SPE Distinguished Lectures on Rig Control Systems. Paul has a BSME from Texas A&M University and a MBA from the University of Houston. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, holds 42 US patents, and has delivered 60 papers and presentations on drilling technology. He is leading industry efforts on: Upgrading the IADC Dull Code and founding the Open Source Drilling Community.  His focus is on relentless redesign of drilling processes and tools to the economic limit.

Jason Baihly is the Digital Production Innovation and Workflow Manager for Schlumberger North America. In this role, he focuses on developing and deploying digital technologies at the wellsite, gathering system, processing facility, and in the office to improve asset visibility, machine learning, and automated control resulting in less down time, production efficiency gains, and reduced OPEX. Jason also touches the digital side of new energy projects in North America related to CCUS, geothermal, ESG, and lithium. He has over 20 years of industry experience in North America in the domains of completion, production, consulting, data analytics, integration, economics, and startups. Jason has a bachelor’s in civil and environmental engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a master’s in management of the oil and gas industry from Heriot-Watt University.

Molly Smith is the Vice President, Drilling and Completions at Murphy Oil Corporation where she leads the global team responsible for the engineering and safe execution of exploration and development drilling, completions and interventions. With over 17 years of experience, Smith has held various positions from technical to leadership. While US Onshore Operations Manager at Murphy, she digitally transformed Eagle Ford Shale operations by building out the Remote Operations Center’s Integrated Operations Platform. Smith’s current well operations include Onshore US and Canada, in which she pioneered real-time remote frac operations monitoring from the Houston office¹, and Offshore GOM, Mexico and Vietnam. Prior to Murphy, Smith worked in various basins including Gulf Coast, Appalachia and Rockies. 

Smith has been published in Society of Petroleum Engineering for her work in Unconventional Completion Technology² and most recently in Data Science and Digital Engineering¹. In 2021, she was recognized by Hart Energy Oil & Gas Investor’s Forty under 40.

Smith received a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California and has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School and Wharton Finance for Executives.

Smith is passionate about STEAM and volunteers with the Women’s Energy Network of Houston both as a mentor and with Young Women Energized outreach. She is married with two children.

Brandon White serves as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Franklin Mountain Energy.  Brandon has over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  Brandon previously served as Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of OneEnergy Partners, LLC from March 2016 to January 2019.  Prior to that, Brandon worked in private equity and investment banking with Leucadia National Corporation, Jefferies Capital Partners and BMO Capital Markets.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from The University of Texas.

Frank is currently Manager, Market Strategy at Transocean Offshore Drilling. This role involves supporting Executive Management for internal and external presentations by researching the offshore rig competition, current offshore market trends, and macroeconomic factors that potentially affect the offshore drilling market. Frank joined Transocean in 2008 and has held several roles across the Company in Audit and Financial Planning and Analysis, before joining Marketing in 2020. Frank is originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, and moved to Houston in 2010. Frank holds a Master in Arts degree in Economics and Accountancy from The University of Aberdeen and is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst.

As General Manager - Reservoir Engineering & Simulation, Moon is responsible for delivering differentiated technologies and workflows for efficient and reliable modeling and production forecasting for all asset classes through technology development.

During his career, Moon has held various engineering and leadership positions in the USA and Kazakhstan. Recently he worked as General Manager of Asset Development in Pittsburgh where he was responsible for establishing and executing the development and depletion of all of Appalachia business unit’s hydrocarbon assets. Prior to this assignment, Moon worked on a diverse set of assets ranging from Carbonates in Kazakhstan, Deepwater production in Block 14, Angola to water floods in the Takula and Wamba Fields of Area A, offshore Angola, to unconventional resource plays in various Oklahoma assets.

Moon received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan, Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Toronto, Canada, and Master degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University, U.S.

Misty Alexa is Asset Manager, Eagle Ford & GOM for ConocoPhillips. Alexa has over 20 years of industry experience in a variety of technical, planning and leadership roles in the United States, Middle East, Canada and Southeast Asia.

In 1999, Alexa joined the company as a reservoir engineer in Lafayette, LA. She also held reservoir engineering positions in Houston, Texas and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, prior to assuming a planning position within Upstream Technology in 2005. From late 2006 to 2010, Alexa worked on oil sands projects in Calgary, Canada. In 2010, Alexa relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia as manager of the Sumatra gas exploitation team. She accepted the asset manager position for the onshore Sumatra fields in 2012. Alexa held the roles of Western North Slope development manager, Western North Slope operations manager and North Slope development manager during her tenure in Alaska from 2013 to early 2020. Most recently, she was manager, Strategy, Planning & Portfolio Management.

Alexa earned a Bachelor of Science in geophysical engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana in 1998.

Chris Riley is an engineering manager with 20 years of diverse energy industry expertise, with a majority of his career spent in upstream oil and gas at Shell.  He has worked in a variety of leadership positions, including roles as the Development Manager for Shell’s Deep Basin project in Western Canada, an area manager in Shell's Permian Basin Asset in West Texas, and as the Development Manager for Perdido. Perdido is the world’s deepest spar and second deepest offshore production platform. Chris then led Shell Brazil’s Development projects in Rio de Janeiro as the GM Development.  He is currently heading the Deep Water Development & Subsurface organization for Shell's Gulf of Mexico projects, including the onstream assets as well as the megaprojects - Whale and Vito. He has a Chemical Engineering degree from Auburn and an MBA from Duke University. Chris is married to Darcy and has three daughters.  When not chasing around his girls, he enjoys playing soccer, following various sports, reading, strategy games, skiing, and scuba diving.

Armand Paradis is the co-founder and CEO of ComboCurve - 2021 Disruptive Technology of the Year focused on consolidating energy industry workflows into one cloud-based, collaborative, and easy-to-use platform. ComboCurve is used by reservoir engineers, production engineers, analysts, and low carbon/GHG emissions reporting team for decline curve analysis, type curve, planning, economics and greenhouse gas reporting. ComboCurve recently raised their Series B funding of $50 million from two prominent growth ventures and they plan on continuing to expand and improve the rapidly growing platform.

Armand, who has nearly a decade of experience in reservoir engineering, programming and data analysis, chose to explore new ideas and start ComboCurve after being disappointed with the current methods of well performance analysis as he found them slow, inefficient, biased and inconsistent. 

Armand has a bachelor's degree from Sharif University of Technology and a master's degree from University of Louisiana where he was recruited as a reservoir engineer for Metairie Energy in Lafayette, Lousiana. After working for Metairie for nearly 5 years, Armand joined Equinor's Houston office as a well performance manager where he worked on major lower 48 unconventional resource plays.

Bayleigh Collins is a Senior Associate at KPMG on the Energy Solutions team. She thrives on business process re-engineering and leveraging new technologies to support industry transformation while promoting and maintaining industry safety and integrity standards. Her core expertise is global and domestic operations management, industry technical knowledge, and strategy development.

Collins lived and worked in the Middle East and Africa and has 7+ years’ experience working on and leading diverse teams for super majors, service companies, and consulting firms. Previously, Collins worked for ExxonMobil supporting operations for the Guyana, Canada East, and US Conventional Assets. During this time, she led the entire US Conventional integrity program including 4 offshore and 2 onshore facilities. She received a Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Structural Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Johannes Alvarez is the EOR and CO2 Advisor in the Mid-Continent Business Unit at Chevron North America Exploration and Production. He is a Senior Reservoir and Production Engineer with more than 20 years of industry and R&D experience. Previously, he worked in Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) were he held leadership positions in Production Engineering and Strategic Planning. Dr. Alvarez’s technical expertise involves asset development, production, facilities and process engineering, cross functional pilots, improved-oil-recovery (IOR) and EOR processes in Unconventional, Heavy Oil and Conventional reservoirs. He is the Author of several journals and technical papers on IOR/EOR in Unconventional Reservoirs and Heavy Oil. Dr. Alvarez currently serves as the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) SPE Co-Chair, SPE Midland Basin Energy Conference Co-Chair, SPE ATCE Reservoir Engineering Chair, SPEi Young Member Outstanding Award Subcommittee member, SPE RTA/PTA Workshop committee member and SPE LACPEC Technical Committee Member. He also serves as technical editor for the SPE Journals, and he has served as SPE Reservoir Advisory Committee member. Dr. Alvarez is a Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Department Industry Board member. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, MSc from Stanford University and BSc from Universidad Simon Bolivar, both in Chemical Engineering.
