Speaker #1 Abstract: How to have Difficult Conversations about Bias

Angel Wileman has worked as an engineer in a traditionally male-dominated industry for over 10 years. She has had her trying experiences with gender bias, discrimination, and privilege and has found a way to speak out in her own inner circle to make change. Specifically, Wileman has developed an approach to leading and engaging in difficult discussions about bias, both in a personal setting and in the workplace. In this presentation, Wileman will share her step-by-step approach to beginning these conversations, giving the listener a starting point in developing their own journey.

Speaker #2 Abstract: Good for the Long Haul:  Avoiding Common Money Mistakes

One key to financial success is to learn from our own mistakes as well as those of others.  The ability to anticipate monetary roadblocks, avoid pitfalls, and overcome shortsightedness is a critical component in the journey to financial well-being and long-term success. This talk will focus on areas where oil and gas professionals may need particular focus, including:

  • Managing income and expenses

  • Preparing for and mitigating against setbacks

  • Setting and keeping financial goals

  • Making sound financial decisions.

These topics will be explored from both the perspective of those presently employed as well as those transitioning to new opportunities.
