Russel Holmes "Russ"

Director for the Center for Offshore Safety, Russ Holmes recently retired from the U.S Coast Guard at the rank of Captain and relocated to Houston from New Orleans. In his previous role as Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI), he coordinated all inspection and investigation activities for Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU), fixed and floating OCS facilities in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. He has a Master of Science in Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing from the University of Michigan

Curtis J. Johnson – “Curt”

Curt Johnson manages the SEMS Audit, Accreditation, and Certification Program at the Center for Offshore Safety. Before joining COS, Curt held environmental, health and safety management and auditing roles in industry and consulting, at one point conducting or coordinating more than a 100 compliance and management systems audits a year, and tracking their corrective action to resolution. Active in EHS auditing professional associations, Curt holds certifications in 4 specialties, and was Chair or a member of the Ethics Committee for the Board of EHS Auditing Certifications for 10 years.
