Mr. Madhusuden Agrawal has 25+ industrial experience in analyzing fluid dynamics and related phenomena through numerical simulations and optimization for wide range of applications in energy eco‐system. He is currently working as Sr Principal Engineer at BP, providing technological leadership in areas involving CFD and Multiphysics modelling. Mr. Agrawal worked with ANSYS and Fluent for about 20 years prior to joining BP. He specializes in multiphase and particulate flow modelling, including sand particle erosion. Mr. Agrawal is chair of SPE GCS CFD Study group and he has published 40+ journal and conference papers.

Ardjan Kopliku is a materials and corrosion engineer working with 29 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is now the BP Upstream Engineering Center erosion subject matter expert. He is chair of NACE International TG 245 “Oil and Gas Production, Erosion Management”. He is leading several other committees at NACE.


Ardjan graduated in Special Physics in Albania and obtained its Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy. He then joined the Italian oil company Eni as a material and corrosion engineer. He joined BP in 2004, where he has covered several roles. He has been the Discipline Lead for Corrosion, Materials and Welding, Corrosion Engineering Team Leader for the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations, and has led several multidisciplinary teams and projects.


 Ardjan is author of 30 papers and articles on corrosion, material selection and erosion.

Siamack A. Shirazi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Director of the Erosion/Corrosion Research Center (E/CRC) at The University of Tulsa (TU) and Director of TU Sand Management Projects (TUSMP) in addition to some other petroleum engineering consortia at TU that he has contributed and co-founded.  Dr. Shirazi received his BS (81) MS (83) and PhD (89) from the University of New Mexico in Mechanical Engineering.  Professor Shirazi has over 500 publications, technical and invited presentations most of them related to erosion/corrosion and multiphase flow for the oil and gas industry applications, including several invited SPE sponsored symposiums on sand management, pipeline erosion-corrosion and the API RP 14E.   Professor Shirazi’s past 31 years of teaching and research has advanced the state-of-the-art in the important field of erosion mitigation for oil field applications and he is known worldwide through his work for the sponsors of his research and through his publications and short courses delivered around the globe.  To recognize his contributions for his research in erosion-corrosion, Shirazi has received NACE Technical Achievement award in 2013, in addition to ASME Fellow (2008) and NACE Fellow (2015) awards, and the 2018 SPE International Projects, Facilities, and Construction Award, and the 2019 ASME-Petroleum Fluids Engineering Award.
