Speaker #2 Abstract: Unconscious Bias-Why It Happens and How to Work Through It
In our lifetimes we are exposed to similar patterns over and over again, through what we experience and have seen out in the world. These ideas shape us and become our basis for our decision making and interactions. We don’t necessarily feel it or recognize it, but this is the basis for unconscious bias. As a result, unconscious bias typically creates hurdles for inclusion, engagement, and performance, while impeding innovation.
