Description

The Buckskin project is a Lower Tertiary development that came online in the Gulf of Mexico in June 2019. Buckskin has up to 5 billion barrels of oil in place held within a 43 square mile reservoir footprint. In 2016, LLOG become operator of Buckskin, their first Deepwater Wilcox development, located approximately 320 miles southwest of New Orleans in 6,800 ft of water. The project was executed six months ahead of schedule, under budget, and has produced at the 30,000 BOPD reserved capacity.

The Buckskin subsea development includes several ‘firsts’ for LLOG and the Deepwater Wilcox, which will be outlined in the presentation. Some of these accomplishments include setting the Gulf of Mexico single-well proppant record, as well as the record for most proppant pumped in a single zone. LLOG’s intelligent well completion design provides downhole choking capability to optimize production rates and ultimate recovery. The presentation will also describe LLOG’s approach to the Buckskin development with particular detail provided on understanding reservoir continuity using formation pressures, reservoir fluid geodynamics and oil geochemistry. Initial production data will be shared along with conclusions regarding reservoir quality and reservoir productivity from the first phase of development.

Registration for this event closes at 6:00 PM CST on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
