Robert Palmer is Senior Vice President of Technical Support for Occidental Oil and Gas Corporation, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum. He has global functional responsibility for the following areas: geoscience and domestic exploration; subsurface engineering and characterization; production and facilities engineering; and drilling and completions. Additionally, he oversees global technical training and support for Occidental’s Re-Imagined Oilfield project, which promotes workforce innovation and collaboration. During his more than 40 years with Occidental, Mr. Palmer has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering and operations in the United States and internationally, including assignments in Peru, Russia, Oman and Argentina. Most recently, he was President and General Manager of Occidental de Colombia. While in Colombia, Mr. Palmer was instrumental in securing and advancing a number of significant new growth projects with Ecopetrol, our strategic partner in the country. He was awarded the “Faith in the Cause” medal by the Colombian Army in recognition of his friendship, ongoing collaboration and meritorious service in the benefit of the country. Mr. Palmer holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University and has completed the Program for Global Leadership at Harvard Business School.

Since joining Precision Drilling in 2004, Duane has held several managerial positions in the fields of Engineering, Major Capital Projects, and Operations. In his current role as Vice President, Sales – Rig Technology, Duane is responsible for business development and commercialization initiatives as it relates to innovative new drilling rig technologies. Duane holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and an MBA from the University of Calgary in Canada.

Siddhartha Sen, Director at IHS Markit is an upstream oil and gas asset valuation expert for the Vantage® platform.  Sid has led the development of content and models and provides comparative and competitive analysis and strategic insights to clients.  He has presented at various IHS Markit Energy Explore events and external events such as the International Association for Oil and Gas Producer Conference (OGP) and AAPG.  Sid holds an MBA from Rice University in Houston, Texas. 

Jayme Meier joined ExxonMobil in 1990 and since then has held a variety of production, development, commercial and environmental roles specializing in project management and execution. Jayme served in project management roles in several deepwater developments in the Gulf of Mexico and Angola, LNG processing projects in Qatar, and in unconventional gas opportunities in western Canada. In addition, Jayme has held strategic planning and commercial management positions at ExxonMobil Development Company focused on Company Plan and Budget, Stewardship and Investment Reappraisal. Prior to her current position, Jayme led a team of about 300 staff operating four offshore installations in Norway with a focus on SSHE performance, reliability and profitability. She led the transition efforts for the sale of ExxonMobil Norway assets in 2017, including transfer of people, processes, and systems. She assumed her current position as Engineering Vice President, ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company, in July 2017. In this capacity she leads an organization of about 300 researchers and technologists focused on tackling some of the most challenging problems in the upstream. Jayme graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in chemical engineering.  She is married with two children.

Nii Ahele Nunoo is currently a New Technology Design Engineer at National Oilwell Varco.  His oilfield career started in 2012 designing and qualifying electronics on projects for high shock, high pressure, and high-temperature downhole drilling tool applications. His focus and expertise are downhole drilling tools used for closed-loop automation and downhole tool development.

He earned his BS in Electronic Engineering from Minnesota State University and is currently pursuing an MBA from Duke University – Fuqua School of Business with a concentration in Energy finance.

Michelle Pflueger is General Manager, Digital Innovation and Acceleration for Chevron. Michelle’s team is responsible for expanding and accelerating digital innovation across the enterprise.
Michelle’s career with Chevron has given her the opportunity to work in multiple countries, with leadership responsibilities ranging from roles in field operations (Offshore Installation manager on Agbami FPSO, Nigeria), to production engineering (Lead Production Engineer in Block 2, Angola), to central technology groups (Petroleum Engineering Consultant in Chevron’s Energy Technology Company). By furthering her education through a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics, she expanded her knowledge in advanced data analytics and complimented her experience in Chevron’s efforts around i-field, Upstream Workflow Transformation, and Lean Six Sigma. Michelle has passion around the transformation of business and workflows through the integration of data analytics and digital technologies.
A native of California, Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from University of California Berkeley in 2000 and a Master’s Degree in Applied Statistics from Texas A&M in 2011. Michelle is a lifetime member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Abhinav Jain joined CSL Capital Management as Vice President-Technology after spending 10 years in oil and gas industry in a variety of functions such as investment banking, strategy consulting, and operations management. He started his career in 2009 as an offshore seismic engineer with Fugro in Norway. During this tenure, he was involved in seismic data acquisition in the North Sea, South China sea, Chukchi sea in Alaska, North-west continental shelf in Australia. Next, he moved to U.S. with Schlumberger in the capacity of a Wireline field engineer. The role encompassed operations management as well as technical reservoir evaluation in SCOOP/STACK, Permian, Eagle Ford, Bakken, Haynesville, deepwater offshore locations for clients ranging from super-majors to independent E&P operators. 

During business school, he interned with ConocoPhilips, looking at investment opportunities in deepwater West Africa and later with Lazard in their oil and gas investment banking group focussing on E&P and oilfield services related M&A transactions. Post business school, he joined PwC's oil and gas investment banking group, providing M&A transaction services to middle-market oilfield service companies. Most recently, he had been advising various oilfield services startups and portfolio companies of several energy private equity groups such as EV private equity, Total Energy Ventures, Energy Innovation Capital, Altira Group, Apollo Global Management, TPG etc. 

Mr. Jain has a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India and an MBA in energy finance from UT Austin and London Business School, U.K.

Hossein Rokhsari is the founder of Darcy Partners, a consultancy that specializes in emerging technology scouting and research services for oil & gas corporate clients. Darcy’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of new technologies in the oil and gas industry, by helping client members find, evaluate, and select the innovative solutions that best meet their needs. Hossein has been investing in the O&G technology space since 2013, leading 20+ investments in collaboration with many E&P and OFS companies. His areas of diligence and investment include subsurface characterization and imaging, data analytics, oilfield water management, downhole tools, automation, and mobile oil field solutions.

Jeff is a Director in TD Securities’ M&A&D advisory group, where he advises on upstream US corporate and asset transactions.  He joined TD Securities in the autumn of 2017 as part of TD’s continuing US expansion. During more than a decade of oil and gas engineering and A&D experience, Jeff has evaluated corporate and asset opportunities throughout the US Lower 48.  He has deep knowledge of the Permian Basin, South Texas, and the Williston Basin.

Prior to joining TD, Jeff provided strategic guidance and acquisition recommendations as the Vice President of Corporate Development at NewVista Energy Partners, performed asset valuations and acquisition recommendations at Hilcorp, and held multiple engineering roles at Occidental Petroleum.  Jeff is a former Air Force Instructor Aircraft Commander and flew over 100 combat mission supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Jeff holds an MBA from the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy.

Melissa Calhoun is currently senior director of talent management at Halliburton.  In this capacity, she is responsible for the employee development cycle overseeing corporate HR functions including talent selection, technical and non-technical competency, learning and training governance, career and performance management, succession and leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.  Her experience spans 23 years in the oil and gas industry in a variety of technical and managerial positions at the district, region and global level beginning as a field engineer in the Gulf of Mexico and progressing through roles in operations, business development, engineering management and new product development.  Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and has completed all levels of Halliburton’s executive development programs in partnership with the Texas A&M Mays Business School Center for Executive Development.  She currently serves on advisory boards for PESA, Halliburton Global Engineering Programs and the College of Human Resources Management (both for Texas A&M University), and chairs the Educational Advisory Board for Halliburton Foundation, Inc.  Melissa has been married for 18 years and is the proud mother of 3 children.

Tony Fernandez is the Head of Acquisitions & Divestitures at Intrepid Financial Partners, based in Houston. Tony is a petroleum engineer and A&D industry veteran who has led numerous teams and notable projects across most major U.S. unconventional plays through his banking career.

Prior to joining Intrepid, Tony was an Executive Director at JPMorgan in their Technical Transaction Team. Prior to that, Tony was in a similar role at Jefferies LLC. Before banking, Tony held numerous engineering roles at Noble Energy in the company’s domestic onshore, international deepwater, and Business Development teams.

He holds a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Duke University. He is an active member of several industry organizations, most notably the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

Valerie Clark is an Associate Partner within the Cognitive Process Transformation service line of IBM Global Business Services.  She has 20 years of experience applying advanced technology and digital strategies to transform large organizations.  Valerie is also a passionate advocate for women in technology and business. She started her career in San Francisco during the .com era working in Decision Science.  She joined IBM in 2001 to transform firms into agile innovators that embrace the best in people, process, and technology.  She is passionate about infusing AI, Automation, and emerging technologies like Blockchain to repurpose human capital toward higher order functions for the organization, while innovating new revenue streams.

Valerie is a certified IBM Design Thinking leader, a skill which helps her identify strategic imperatives to shape innovation programs that yield efficiency for enterprises. She is also at the forefront of IoT and AI for business and works with clients to redesign their business to realize efficiencies leveraging these advanced technologies.  

Valerie is a passionate leader of people.  She shaped IBMs consulting organization by incubating, and then scaling globally, a practice of millennial consultant that collectively reinvigorate IBM. She speaks at conferences to advocate for women in business and has led the IBM TECH Symposium for the Women’s Bond Club for seven years and running.

Valerie is alumni of University of California – Davis with a degree in Psychology and post-graduate research in Cognitive Neuroscience.  She is a mother of two daughters residing in New York City. Valerie is also an accomplished musician, singing at events in New York City to raise money for public schools.

Alexander Gitman is a Vice President and a Reservoir Engineer at Miller and Lents, and has been with the firm since 2013. He has diverse experience in reservoir and production engineering, as well as economic evaluations. His focus with Miller and Lents has been on estimating and categorizing oil and gas reserves volumes and projecting future revenues in accordance with SEC and SPE-PRMS definitions for numerous domestic and international oil and gas companies. Prior to Miller and Lents, Mr. Gitman worked for Chevron and BP. His experience has been focused on exploration and production projects in the Delaware, Midland, East Texas, Arkoma, Green River, Uinta, and Maverick basins, as well as the Gulf of Mexico and Russian Sakhalin Island. He received his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Master of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

Andrea Rowe serves as Vice President in Citi’s Energy Investment Banking Group since September 2018. Mrs. Rowe has over 10 years of experience across all major U.S. basins in various engineering, operational, and management roles. Prior to joining Citi, Mrs. Rowe spent 2.5 years at J.P. Morgan on the Technical Transaction Team focusing on Upstream A&D and corporate M&A. She began her career as a chemist focusing on new product development and field operations at Hexion.   During this time she received her Master’s in Petroleum Engineering, changing focus to build out the company’s first full service engineering and technical sales team. She has also worked for Drillinginfo where she was dedicated to large scale data analytics and engineering focused client projects. Mrs. Rowe holds a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Biology from Baylor University and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Dina Kuykendall is the Global Director of Environment and Sustainability at Baker Hughes, a GE company.   She engages employees and leaders to ensure environmental protection and regulatory compliance, advance sustainability performance and minimize liabilities.  After more than a decade of focus, Dina knows that “best in class” performance in these areas maximizes business value, ensures social license to operate and provides a competitive advantage with customers and investors.  It’s how well you communicate and connect with employees to elevate awareness, prompt action to reduce the company’s environmental footprint and make a difference in the communities where we live and work. Dina leads the way using effective leadership and strategies to benchmark across industries, achieve performance improvements and enhance the transparency of external reporting.  

She has more than 30 years of experience in the oilfield services sector, including technical roles, quality and HSE.  She previously worked for Exxon Energy Chemicals and Petrolite Corporation in technical roles.  She is a graduate of the University of New Orleans.

Sally graduated from University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in May 2015. She started her involvement with SPE Gulf Coast Section by attending professional events and volunteering. She is a member of the board of directors of SPE-GCS and SPE-GCS Young Professionals Group and has been the chair of the Community Outreach Committee and the Awards and Scholarship Banquet committee for 2018-2019.

Sally is a reservoir engineer for Triple Five Energy Resources. She is responsible for performing asset base review, evaluating acquisition, and business development.

Sally is very passionate about serving the Houston community. Giving back to the organizations is what motivates her as volunteer.

Tim Davis is the Technical Director for TAM International headquartered in Houston, Texas and has been with the company for 12 years.  He manages Engineering, Product Line Mangers, Marketing, and Training. Prior to working for TAM, Tim spent 19 years in the wireline industry in both the cased hole and open hole markets. He has authored and co-authored SPE papers and has contributed to numerous patents.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Marcus Rose is a Project Manager for BP with more than 15 years of projects experience. His career to-date has been focused on subsea developments in the Gulf of Mexico, Angola, and Trinidad and has included various engineering and project management roles spanning all phases of project development and execution. He recently completed the Thunder Horse Northwest Expansion project and is currently an advisor for a portfolio of projects as part of BP’s Modernization and Transformation agenda. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University and is a chartered engineer.

Jared Stephens is a Project Manager for Treating Iron and Auxiliary equipment for Schlumberger, supporting their Well Services global operations.  Jared started his career as a Field Engineer in Laredo, TX and has used that experience and knowledge to help him quickly grow through a technical career path.  Following his time in field operations he held roles as Field Test Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Production Manager supporting Schlumberger's Automated Stimulation Delivery Platform.  

Jonathan Garrett currently serves as a Managing Director for RS Energy Group. Jonathan joined RSEG in 2018 and leads the firm’s Customer Success organization. He brings over a decade of industry experience spanning Lower 48 research and consulting at Wood Mackenzie to working as an engineer for Schlumberger, both offshore and in product development. Jonathan graduated from the University of Michigan with both Masters and Bachelor’s degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering.

Shahrazed Metouri was working as a researcher with Aramco Services Company for almost two years supporting the Production Technology Team. Prior to that she held a position as an Associate R&D Chemist with Halliburton, where she supported their Production Enhancement’s Product Service Line.

Ms. Metouri has five years of experience in the oil and gas industry starting out with the subsidiary of C&J Energy known as Blue Ribbon Technology, and GE Oil and Gas. She is skilled in corrosion, scale, acidizing, produced and fresh water fluid systems, upstream products, completion tools, field support, and sustaining. Her skills and experience have heavily supported her work throughout her career.

Metouri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of St Thomas. She also holds a certificate from NACE as a Corrosion Technician. Metouri currently serves on the Young Professionals Board for the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Metouri actively supports patents and technical publications. She is fluent in Arabic, French, and enjoys traveling and golf. She is set to pursue her Masters in Industrial and Process Chemistry from the University of St Thomas in the Fall of 2019

Joe is currently a Business Development Advisor focusing on unconventional resource acquisitions in North America. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University and began his career in energy as a Nuclear Engineer for Southern Company based in Augusta, GA. Following his MBA, he was employed by ExxonMobil Development Company in development planning and project engineering roles. Joe joined the management team of Zarvona Energy in 2013 where he served as Operations Manager and VP of Business Development. He rejoined ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures in 2018.

Joe’s spare time is thankfully consumed by his three daughters and wife, Lauren.  

Brent recently assumed the role of Production and Artificial Lift Technology/Deployment lead in 2019. In this role, Brent supports all of Oxy's production, artificial lift, well enhancement technology portfolio, develop new vendor relationships, and associated exclusive intellectual property. He interned with Anadarko, Newfield, and Oxy during his undergraduate education before joining Oxy as a drilling engineer in Bakersfield in 2010.  Brent supported Oxy’s development program at Elk Hills in conjunction with Chevron, and eventually their exploration program.  Prior to the CRC spinoff and impending oil price crash, Brent moved to Houston as a production engineer supporting Oxy’s unconventional assets in the southern Delaware basin.  During the downturn, Brent rotated to the field as a production foreman in Carlsbad for around a year and a half.  As activity ramped back up, Brent moved to in a whirlwind of assignments as an operations engineer, artificial lift engineer, and finally a production enginer for Oxy’s growing assets in New Mexico as it went from 9000 BOPD to 120,000 BOPD.  Brent then became a production optimization lead, managing a team of Carlsbad field staff, Permian based well analysts, office based production engineers, and facilities engineers.  Recently in May 2019, Brent was assigned to the technology development role to more rapidly deploy the breakthroughs Oxy developed and are developing in the New Mexico asset. Without a real base management strategy, unconventional oil and gas will simply be a ponzi scheme, as no cashflow will be generated at a certain point of total production due to rapid well decline and decreasing rock quality as the portfolio management works through all the tier 1 inventory

Joined Goldman Sachs' Global Natural Resources investment banking group in Houston as Co-Head of Technical A&D, advising clients in the upstream and midstream markets

Carlos received a M.S. in Petroleum Geology from The University of Oklahoma and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from National University of Colombia, started his career as a geologist with Noble Energy in US onshore and West Africa, transitioned to reservoir engineering roles on assets located in China, UK and Latin America. After 4 years with Noble Energy Carlos joined BHPBilliton and work as reserves lead, reservoir engineering and business development roles in their Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville Shale assets before joining Citi’s A&D team in Houston

Mitsuko Ihaza completed her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2018.  In college, she got involved in undergraduate research and business consulting student organizations. 

Mitsuko has a background in process safety consulting. From her work determining the risks associated with potentially catastrophic events, she’s familiar with the oil and gas industry’s best practices.

Mitsuko has a passion for enhancing human expertise with technology and is always interested in discussing cloud and data science techniques.

Mollie Garvey is a Quality Management Leader at Halliburton where she focuses on streamlining global business processes through the introduction of digital technologies. She began her career 9 years ago as a Wireline Field Engineer and has leveraged her operations management expereinces as an field service manager to tackle the challenges of several global project management positions. Passionate about giving back to the industry, she volunteers as an SPE Energy4Me mentor to encourage the next generation to pursue STEM and careers in oil & gas. She holds a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Project Management Professionals certificate from the Project Management Institute and, is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at Duke University Fuqua College of Business. 

Mollie Garvey currently serves SPE Gulf Coast Section Young Professionals chapter as RNC co-Chair and as a Gulf Coast Section Ambassador to Halliburton.

Patricia E. Carreras main interests are reservoir engineering, field development planning, reservoir simulation, mentoring and coaching. She has worked for more than 25 years for major, independent and consulting oil and gas companies. Ms. Carreras has a vast international work experience developed in Houston, Ciudad del Carmen (Mexico), and Buenos Aires. She is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, currently serving in the Business, Management and Leadership Committee, and volunteering as a mentor for the eMentoring program. Ms. Carreras holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, and a Master of Engineering degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Sarath Ketineni currently works as a lead reservoir engineer at Chevron’s Mid-Continent Business Unit working in an Asset Development role. He began his career 4 years ago with Chevron and has had two years of prior downstream experience. In his current role, he optimizes field development plans for conventional waterflood and tertiary floods within Chevron’s portfolio. Prior to this role, he worked as reservoir simulation engineer at Chevron’s Energy Technology Company. He also serves as a Technical editor for SPE journals, and Journal of petroleum Science and Engineering. Apart from these, he is also an SPE ementor, student paper contest judge, and virtual career pathways advisor at SPE. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras and MS, PhD in petroleum Engineering from Penn State.

Sarath Ketineni currently serves at SPE RNC co-Chair and professional events coordinator for SPE Gulf Coast Section Young Professionals chapter.

Shelby Johnson is a Senior Reservoir Engineer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.  She has responsibility in the U.S. Onshore Exploration department for commercially characterizing prospects and executing exploration programs.  Since joining Anadarko in 2014, she has held various other roles with a focus on production and operations engineering in the Delaware Basin.  Mrs. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.  She is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Society of Women Engineers.

Stephen is Senior Global Market & Business Analyst at Halliburton within the Wireline and Perforating product line. In this role he ensures the accurate measurement of key business initiatives that support the stated strategy of the product line and Halliburton. Stephen joined Halliburton in 2011 after a 10+ year career in sales and sales training outside of the oil patch. Peripherally, Stephen organizes Halliburton’s BP MS 150 team and Halliburton’s participation in the Corporate Running Team program with the Houston Marathon Foundation. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee (the first UT) in Music Performance and his Master in Business Administration from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
