Joel Hugghins graduated from MIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a focus on Industrial Technologies.  He began his career with Trane Air Conditioning where he was certified in Lean applications and started performing Lean-enabled design (both product and facility), R&D, and rapid problem resolution in a highly diverse …

Joel Hugghins graduated from MIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a focus on Industrial Technologies.  He began his career with Trane Air Conditioning where he was certified in Lean applications and started performing Lean-enabled design (both product and facility), R&D, and rapid problem resolution in a highly diverse mixed-model environment.


He worked several years in consulting for end-user-facing energy providers and energy conservation firms, applying Lean methodologies and process efficiency strategies to lower taxpayer burdens, while garnering Professional Engineering licensure in multiple states.


Eventually, he shifted his career to oilfield-related product and service providers.  He has completed several advanced professional certifications including Lean Sensei, Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), and ISO Lead Auditor.  He manages multi-million-dollar facility and equipment projects, company-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives, and oversee Lean training for NEWPARK Resources, its customers, and suppliers.


Currently, Joel Hugghins, P.E., LSC, PMP serves as a Director Engineering and Technology Ventures at NEWPARK Resources, LLC
