Speaker #1 Bio: Chuck was recently recognized as Chevron Mentor of the Year, via nomination and interviews with the Mentee, awarded by the Diversity Team.  His 40+ year career includes roles of increasing responsibility most recently at Chevron, Production Management Industries, Growth Resources and Schlumberger.  He received EE MS and BS degrees from Virginia Tech.

Event #1 Description/Presentation Abstract:  What Type of Mentor are You?

There are many opportunities to mentor, but one must first determine which mentoring capacity is best suited for you. This discussion will discuss the following mentoring categories and the roles the mentor and mentee play in the relationship: Technical, Job, Career, Impact, or Counseling Mentor.  Everyday opportunities to give back in this way will also be shared.

Speaker #2 Bio: Cheng Zhang partners with Team OGRE to grow their professional reserve-related brand, R3. He focuses on integrating Stochastic Analysis, Type Well, and Interactive Data Analytics with guidelines of the SEC and PRMS.  He received a BS degree in petroleum geology from SWPU in China, and a MS degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Houston and the University of Wyoming.

Event #2 Description/Presentation Abstract: Data to Make Value-Driven Decisions

Drilling exploration or proved undeveloped unconventional wells is a risk-based business.  Most risk is associated with geological and engineering uncertainties, including uncertainties associated with the evaluation of data.  Cheng will demonstrate an effective visual analytical workflow utilizing pertinent geologic and engineering data to generate a Type Well Profile.  The Type Well Profile provides an improved understanding of predicted well performance, critical to estimating the economic outcome and thereby reducing risk for value-driven decisions.

Speaker #3 Bio: Dr. Pelton has been a professional communicator/presenter for 45 years and has taught courses in communication and communication-related subjects for national and international training/development organizations.  He holds degrees from Cornell University, The New England Conservatory of Music, and the University of Cincinnati.  He is a member of numerous training institutes and societies and enjoys an international reputation as a communications consultant, lecturer, trainer, and coach.
