PART 3:  UPLOAD YOUR RESUME BY MARCH 20

In preparation for this event, job seekers must upload their resumes to the SPE-GCS website.  Before you attempt to do so, we strongly urge you to read all of the detailed instructions that you can see by clicking here.  For example, you will see that the field labeled “Title” is actually expecting you to enter your last name and first name, separated by a comma.  Also note that Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V work better than Copy and Paste on most browsers.  Once you have read the instructions, proceed to upload your resume by clicking here.  Note that uploaded resumes will only remain in the system for 90 days, at most.  If it has been longer than 90 days since your last resume upload, you must do it again.

The deadline for your resume upload is March 20, 2018.  If you have not uploaded your resume by then, your registration will be cancelled.  This is because the employers must have adequate lead time before the March 27th event to review the resumes to help them focus on job seekers who are well matched to their job openings.

OTHER RECOMMENDED PREPARATIONS

Review the list of participating employers on this page and check their websites for job openings. The logos are hot linked to their websites.  We update the list regularly, as new employers register for a booth.  Bring enough copies of your resume for each of the companies that you plan to visit.

Also, don’t miss the excellent video presentation from long-time recruiter, Ramesh Anand, entitled, “Job Fair:  Fare Well or Farewell”.  He has shared many useful tips about how to maximize your effectiveness at job fairs.  Click here to watch the video.

THE RECRUITER PANEL DISCUSSION

“Early-bird” registration for the 8:30 entry time entitles you to admission to the recruiter panel discussion from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.  Here are the headlines (below).  More detail can be found on the event website here.

A panel discussion, entitled “A Self-Driven Job Search” will also be held as part of the hiring event.  The seminar will be held before the job fair and seating will be limited to first people who register (depends on seating).  The panel will consider: “How can job seekers remain in the driver’s seat of their job search, put their best foot forward, and stay positive during an extended search and tight market?

The speakers will include Anthony Caridi, Senior Consultant for Core Group Resources, Margaret Johnson, President of Ideal Training Inc., Dawn Mitchell, Founder of Corporate Coach,  and Craig Stewart, Managing Director of  Ben Aris.  They have decades of experience in human resourcing, training and organizational capability.
