Dr. Huma Abbasi is General Manager, Global Health and Medical, for Chevron Corporation, working out of the company’s headquarters in San Ramon, California, since June 2011. In this capacity, Dr. Abbasi is Chevron’s Chief Medical Officer. She oversees the design and implementation of programs and services to meet the health and medical needs of the company’s 60,000 employees, and addresses health and medical services associated with operations.


Dr. Abbasi began her career at Chevron in a lead role in Occupational Health and has over 19 years of increasing responsibility and experience at Chevron including successfully managing the Americas, Europe, Eurasia, Middle East and Africa regional medical portfolios, management and development of the H&M Center of Excellence (COE), leading the deployment and implementation of Operational Excellence Management System and working in central advisory and regional positions in the U.S., Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East and Pakistan regions.


Dr. Abbasi also facilitated the development and implementation of Health, Environment and Safety Programs and developed tools and processes to help regions attain superior performance. She has worked in many countries around the globe on prevention and treatment of infectious diseases with a focus on tuberculosis, hepatitis and HIV/AIDS.


She is a Doctor in Medicine, has a Fellowship in Specialized Pathology, Toxicology and Environmental Sciences and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist. She serves on Board of trustees for American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine (AOCOPM) and Global Business Coalition (GBC) Health Board.

Alistair Fraser is the Vice President of Health for Royal Dutch Shell plc based in The Hague, Netherlands and has worked in a variety of Health roles in Shell for the past 27 years. After working in the Antarctic, Madagascar and then Scotland as a trainee surgeon, Alistair joined Shell as an offshore doctor as emergency physician for search and rescue services in the East Shetland basin.  Since then he has worked in multiple locations including UK, Oman, Sarawak, USA, Nigeria and the Netherlands. 


His strategic drive is to create an evidence based Culture of Health in Shell, as a sustainable approach to improve human performance and quality of life, whilst enhancing company performance. This is based on a strong belief, and increasing evidence, that positively managed health contributes large value to business, and importantly, is hugely beneficial for individuals. Recently he has shifted the focus of the human performance work to managing uncertainty in teams and dealing with change, whilst integrating recent developments in cognitive neuroscience and imaging with positive psychology techniques.


Alistair Fraser is a graduate of Aberdeen University Medical School, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow, Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science by Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Jill Staats is the General Manager for HSE Systems & Culture for Royal Dutch Shell.  She is based out of Shell’s Technology Center in Houston.  Jill is a chemical engineer and has over 28 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in the Oil and Gas industry.  Jill joined Shell in 2007 as a Process Safety Manger for Shell’s Deer Park Petrochemical Complex.  She now leads a global team of Subject Matter Experts in Behavioral Safety, Operational Safety, and Process Safety that drive safety improvements and safety culture programs across Shell which are designed to unlock leadership at all levels of the organization to deliver Goal Zero through a culture of care and proactive risk management.
