 Matt is currently an Investment Director with Statoil’s venture capital division as well as the Chief Technology Officer of a Statoil spin-out Reveal Energy Services, which is based on a breakthrough technology that he developed when he worked in Statoil’s Research & Technology group. He started his career as a researcher in ExxonMobil’s Upstream Research where he developed numerous technologies.  He has over 25 filed patents in the oil & gas space on more than 10 new technologies.  He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the age of 24 from MIT where he also launched his first successful start-up. 

Reveal Energy Services is a Statoil spin-out that is focused on hydraulic fracture and proppant mapping using a novel approach that is easier to use and lower cost than competing technologies.  The technology uses nothing more than wellhead pressure gauges and has demonstrated potential to achieve higher fidelity results than other technologies in the space.  It has recently closed its Series A investment round and is poised to be cash flow positive after only its first full operating quarter.

President & Founder, Zahroof Valves Inc.

Zahroof has over 20 years of experience in top engineering and R&D positions and has successfully brought several products from concept to market. He is the inventor of the SF and the founder of ZVI. He was most recently Chief Engineer for Samsung Techwin, establishing their Center for Turbomachinery Design World-wide in Houston and overseeing engineering development in South Korea and USA. Prior to this he worked with Cameron Compression Systems, York International and Atlas Copco, leading the development of several successful industrial compressors. Zahroof has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Diploma in International Management from IFL (Swedish Management Institute) and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Troy Ruths received his BS in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in Computer Science, with a specialization in Computational Biology, from Rice University.

Ruths.ai is a data science boutique located in Houston. They focus on building advanced analytics packages for oil and gas assets across the globe. Clients include both super majors and small independents. They are a TIBCO Spotfire partner and published SPE authors on the platform.
