The development of professional personnel in a cost-effective and timely manner is essential to business success in the global Oil and Gas industry. Developing the skills (competencies) of individuals is the key to a successful workforce and a successful business; this requires the adoption of appropriate personnel development planning.

Competency can refer to Knowledge, Skill and Attitude, all of which can be part of the overall task performance: knowing what to do (knowledge), being able to do it (skill) and understanding the need for application of the skill (attitude).
The big question is – “how do you make such a system practical, sustainable and valid”.
