Biography

PRIYAVRAT SHUKLA is a Senior Petroleum Engineer with Schlumberger Digital & Integration and a NExT certified instructor for hydraulic fracturing at Schlumberger in Houston, TX. He has over 13 years of extensive field, research and project experience specializing in hydraulic fracturing, geomechanics and reservoir engineering. Before that he has worked for the integrated consulting business executing projects in the Permian basin, Marcellus shale and Eagle Ford shale. Priyavrat has also worked in field operations executing hydraulic fracturing jobs for major/leading operators in the Bakken shale. Previously, Priyavrat has worked as a Reservoir Engineer with Reliance Industries Limited in Mumbai, India in their offshore oil and gas assets. Additionally, Priyavrat is a subject matter and hydraulic fracturing expert at SPE. He serves as an e-mentor and a technical editor for four SPE journals. He has published several papers with industry and academia at major forums and filed multiple patents. He holds MS in Petroleum Engineering from University of Oklahoma and BS in Petroleum Engineering from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, India. In 2018, Priyavrat joined the SPE-GCS Completions & Production study group and worked his way up to serve as Programs Chair and then Chair for the C&P study group. The group has seen immense success under his leadership even though pandemic had severe impact. Priyavrat founded and kickstarted the Energy Transition special interest group in 2021 which is dedicated to spreading awareness on energy transition topics. He was awarded with the Exemplary Volunteer Award by SPE-GCS in 2021 for his contributions. From Aug 2022 he will be serving as the Vice-Chair Programs in the SPE-GCS Board.
