From the Chair - Welcome to the new year for SPE in the Gulf Coast Section. I’m excited to start my eighth year serving on the GCS board of directors, this year in the very visible leadership position of chair. Trust me though, I’m not the only one doing the leading in Houston these days.

Gulf Coast Section Selected to Receive 2004 SPE President’s Award for Section Excellence - Congratulations! The Gulf Coast Section was selected to receive the 2004 SPE President's Award for Section Excellence. This prestigious award recognizes SPE sections whose efforts in member programs, technology dissemination, cooperation with other civic and professional organizations are exceptional and much more. The award will be presented at the President's Luncheon that will be held Wednesday, 29 September 2004 at 11:30 a.m., in the George R. Brown Convention Center's George Bush Ballroom.

SPE Honors and Awards - SPE honors and awards recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the industry, the engineering profession, or to SPE. We're pleased to announce that Gulf Coast Section members will be well represented in the honors and awards winners. The honors and awards will be presented at the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Houston at the Awards Banquet on Monday, September 27.
