Have you made an energy presentation at your child’s school? If so, did you know that Energy4me will donate a complimentary Oil and Natural Gas book to the primary, intermediate, secondary school, or school organization on your behalf? Go to www.energy4me.org to find out how. This Web site is also a valuable source for information and materials to help you develop presentations for any group from primary students to adults. It’s one of my first sources for presentation materials.

Also still available for presentations is the “Magic Suitcase.” These suitcases, containing experiments highlighting basic petroleum engineering concepts, are useful for career fairs, scouting events, and classroom presentations. You can check out a suitcase from one of the Suitcase champions located around Houston; go to the Magic Suitcase committee page on www.spegcs.org to find the champion nearest you.

Whom do I contact?
Don’t know whom to ask? Not sure what is handled by the Education Coordinator vs. Community Services Coordinator? Would you like to know more about the leadership structure of the GCS?

The GCS Leadership Chart has now been posted under Committees > Board of Directors. This will facilitate your search for an initiative contact as well as your understanding of the leadership structure of the GCS.

Are you in jeopardy of being dropped from SPE rolls?
If you have not paid your 2009 SPE dues, your name will be dropped from the SPE membership rolls at the end of the year. We don’t want to lose you. It’s easy to pay your membership on-line at www.spe.org.

May you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season.
