Experience & Notable Contributions

LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY (Department of Petroleum Engineering), Baton Rouge, LA · May 2014 to July 2016

Research Assistant – Department of Petroleum Engineering

Lab experimental project, working on a new expansive cement system to compensate the cement shrinkage effect and improve the well integrity by preventing fluid migration.

LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY (Department of Civil Engineering), Baton Rouge, LA · Aug 2013 to May 2014

Research Assistant – Department of Civil Engineering

Created finite element models simulating thermal variation of the Paving Asphalt using Abaqus software.  Use of Infrared Thermography to control the quality of joints construction and to detect reflective cracking in asphalt pavements.

PAYANDAN OIL, GAS AND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY · Tehran, Iran · Oct 2005 to Mar 2013

Senior Project Engineer,

Head of the technical group in office for project management and quality control for optimum project delivery. Head of preparing bids and sub-contractor plans, coordinating, reviewing, verifying and analyzing cost estimates on proposals, projects and studies to ensure that the content of the estimate is complete, accurate and meets the requirements of the company goals.

Supervised field construction sites including gas pipe line, both concrete and steel structure buildings, sport complex, and natural gas stations. Directed, trained and developing subordinates, and monitored project progress in MS Project. Appraised overall accuracy of estimate of construction projects, including preparation, planning, managing and recommends contingencies for estimates such as lump sum bids, defined estimates and interim control estimates.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Increased benefits over 13 percent in one of the projects by proposing best engineering solutions, plans and minimizing costs & time for best project outcomes.
  • Team lead in winning different bids such as: $163 million construction project by producing accurate risk management, conceptual T&M estimates.

OTHER EXPERIENCE

Field Engineer, MANDATORY NATIONAL TRAINING, Tehran, Iran, Mar 2006 to Nov 2007.  In-site inspector and quality control in construction of a 130-unit residential apartment complex, monitored project timetable and tasks with MS Project, and prepared statement of contractor invoices and payments.
