Mechanical Engineer with 13+ years of experience in project related work in oilfields, Pipelines (upstream), Refinery and oil tanks Terminals (downstream).

I have a production engineering background with skill in solving operational problems, and facilities engineering.  My experience includes supervision of engineering teams and technicians and management of oil and gas facilities projects.

Project Engineer 01/2014 – 03/2016

Interpreted Scope of work (SOW), drawings and specifications to determine material requirements and supervision of: 300m Cemented pipeline for firefighting systems installation, 5 bladder tank platform construction, 3 new 30in nozzle installation, replacement of shell plates in 1st, 7th, 8th, and 9th course, bottom, annular, and roof plates and ring beam replacement in in accordance with norms API 650 and API 653.

Prepared work breakdown structure (WBS), project schedule, Material Take off (MTO) and project execution plan (PEP) for 5 tank overhaul projects in oil terminal and one in refinery, and presented weekly reports for clients with detailed progress and variances analyses, and explained any over/under runs in expenditures.

Supervised installation of 2 aluminum geodesic domes, in oil tanks up to 84m diameter, and construction of 2 top ring beam reinforcements.

Modified plot plan drawings, pipeline routes as build, prepare drawings of primary and secondary internal floating roof seals for construction. Supervised production workers, technicians and other engineers.

Supervised engineers from multiple disciplines in the review and approval of more than 10 engineering design packages representing a $40,000,000.00 investment; conceptual design, basic and detail engineering and risk assessments for oil processing facilities, oil and gas gathering systems pipelines, natural gas compression plants, pump stations, and LACT unit. Under FEL or FEED methodology.

Evaluated, designed and constructed over 100km of gaslift pipeline networks (up to 3000psi) and over 100km of oil and water pipeline networks (up to 700psi) with cost-effective alternatives to increase performance, reduce costs and minimize environmental impact.

Saved approx. $2,800,000.00 in project cost and reduced installation time by developing a more efficient production pipe laying design (oilfield Barua).

Performed pipe hydraulic simulations, choke and flash calculations, de-bottlenecking analysis, natural gas compression and processing simulation, fluid processing installations simulation on PC-based software packages (PIPESIM, PIPEPHASE, PRO-II, HYSYS), achieving a 70% reduction in bottleneck in wellhead connection to oil&gas gathering system.

Designed modifications in oil and gas separator for new control system to increase capacity up to 20% in Barua oilfield.

Repaired cable stayed bridge Misoa slope without interrupting pipeline production flow without creating environmental effects, at oilfields Barua-Motatan / Menegrande (40,000 BPD).

Designed a process to recover 1.500.000 SCFD vented in hydrocarbon gathering station and reduce to 20% the bottleneck in offshore oil&gas gathering station. Recommended optimum hydraulic operating condition and emergency condition through process simulation.

Provided technical expertise related to material and corrosion covering pipeline materials, corrosion threats and corrosion controls, oversaw repair and reinstallation of oil and gas separator with high corrosion problems due to process changing conditions.

Worked closely with the operations department and contractors on all matters related to design specifications and made recommendations for improvements to achieve economies.

Visualized, formulated, and developed oil and gas facilities projects for existing and new oilfields (Wellhead platform, hydrocarbon gathering station, water/gas injection, water treatment plant, gas plant, oil and gas pipelines networks, gas distribution systems, pump station and custody transfer metering); determined the technical and economic feasibility of the projects, prepared 10 and 20 years master plans for development. Defined and controlled the annual project capital expenditure (CAPEX) and portfolio.

Prepared SOW, MTO, PEP, cost estimating, project schedule for upstream facilities, performed construction bid packages, and weekly reports with details progress and variances analysis, and handle meetings with managers to explain over/under runs in expenditures and meeting with contractors.
