A Conference and Trade Show
Westin Galleria, Houston
February 26, 2003

Please make plans to attend "Digital Energy 2003 - From Bytes to Barrels," a major conference hosted by the SPE Gulf Coast Section Digital Energy Study Group. The conference will focus on the latest applications of digital technology in the oil and gas industry.

John Darley, director of Shell Technology E&P in The Hague, will provide our keynote presentation, "The Intelligent Oil Field of the Future." John has global responsibility for Shell's upstream technology organization. This charge includes the provision of technical support and innovative solutions to Shell's E&P sector.

John's organization covers Technology Applications and Research, Deepwater Services, commercial Technology Ventures, and Skills and Competence Development. John also is a member of the Executive Committee for Shell's EP business. His leadership will set an exciting pace for the conference.

In addition to our keynote presentation, a luncheon speaker from Schlumberger will provide a service industry perspective on the oil field of the future.

In the afternoon, representatives from Schlumberger, Halliburton, BJ Services and Accenture will participate in an interactive panel discussion on intelligent oil fields, addressing three key questions: What's reality? What's missing? And what are we doing to fill the gap?

Throughout the conference, attendees are invited to attend presentations by various experts on Field Operations, Collaboration and Knowledge Management, Asset and Reservoir Management, Digital Workflow and other subjects of importance to the industry.

Please mark your calendar now to attend Digital Energy 2003 on February 26. All SPE members and other interested persons are invited to attend this important conference.
