"The Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Gulf Coast Section enhances technical knowledge among our members through local events, promotes camaraderie and networking in our industry, educates and serves the community, and provides scholarships to students entering the oil and gas industry."
The SPE-GCS is looking for members to submit new technology ideas to the SPE-GCS Ideas Launch Pad (ILP). Our objective is to help assess technology that has the potential to be launched as a commercial venture and to help you kick-start your dream.
If you have an idea that you believe fits this criterion, then we are looking for a two-page technical abstract laying out the idea in sufficient technical detail, the market need, and the feasibility of development, as well as a preliminary estimate of funding needs. An SPE-GCS ILP committee will meet regularly to review the ideas submitted, a selection of which will be selected for further support.
We are partnering with the Houston Technology Center (www.houstontech.org), which is the largest technology business incubator and accelerator in Texas, advancing the commercialization of emerging technology companies in the greater Houston area. The idea selected by the SPE-GCS ILP committee will be submitted to the HTC for further consideration.
The Section will cover the $250 application fee to the HTC and will support the presentation that will be made to the HTC Energy Advisors Council. Should your fledgling company with the great idea be selected for membership in the HTC, the Section will seek to subsidize the first year’s membership fee. HTC members will also be eligible to apply for seed money of $25,000, funded by the McNair Group, as well as ongoing support from the HTC during the incubation period as further funds are sought for development and launch of the company.
Please provide the required information below. You may copy and paste your two page abstract in the field below and/or upload files pertaining to your submission.
