The Entrepreneurship Cell of SPE Gulf-Coast Section is conducting an educational workshop to provide attendees with the information needed to start and operate a successful E&P startup. The seminar is designed in a three-session format where each session focuses on different aspects of E&P startups. Highly accomplished and successful E&P entrepreneurs will share their experiences and journey of starting their own E&P companies.

Speaker Session 1: Aaron Davis - CEO, Fortuna Resources

Speaker Bio: Aaron Davis is co-founder of Fortuna Resources LLC established in January, 2016 and currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Fortuna, Mr. Davis was a Subsurface Manager at Occidental Oil & Gas, where he was in charge of the Delaware Basin and Central Basin Platform in the Permian Basin. Mr. Davis has worked multiple basins across the US and Middle East, including Permian, Mid-Continent, Yemen, Qatar and Oman.  He is also a graduate of both Rice University and The University of Texas at Austin with a MBA and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering Honors. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.

 

Speaker Session 2: Vignesh Proddaturi, P.E. - Managing Partner, Glendale Energy Capital

Speaker Bio: Vignesh is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Glendale Energy Capital and has more than a decade of experience in business development, strategic planning, field operations and asset evaluations.  Most recently, Vignesh was Co-Founder and VP, Engineering and Acquisitions at Millennial Energy Partners where he led Millennial’s entry into the STACK play.  During his tenure at Millennial, Vignesh secured significant private equity investments leading to direct participation in the drilling and completion of over 100 wells across most major unconventional plays in the US Lower 48.  Prior to Millennial, he was Head of Reserves at Legend Natural Gas and a key member of the team involved in the merger of Legend and KKR Natural Resources.  Prior to Legend, Vignesh was the Manager of Reserves and Economics at Seneca Resources and was the Reservoir Engineering Manager at both Milagro Exploration and Sabco Oil and Gas.  He started his oil and gas career at Intertek Westport as a Petroleum Engineer performing special core analysis.  Vignesh earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University, an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Tech and a M.B.A. with specialization in Energy Investment and Finance from the University of Houston.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and was named one of Oil & Gas Investor’s Top 30 Under 40 Leaders in 2015.

 

Speaker Session 3: Zach Fenton - Cofounder & COO, UpCurve Energy

Speaker Bio: Zach is a co-founder and COO of UpCurve Energy, a private equity-backed company with an over 7,000 acre position in the Southern Delaware Basin.  He previously worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in ConocoPhillips’ Eagle Ford Development organization.  Prior to that, he spent several years at ConocoPhillips in various strategy, economics and executive support positions, between both Houston and Aberdeen. Before joining ConocoPhillips, Zach worked as an Associate at the NY-based private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg and as an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division, where he focused primarily on energy industry M&A and financings. Zach received an MBA with honors from the Wharton School and a Certificate in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M. He graduated cum laude from Duke University with a BA in Economics and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
