International Study Group's Mexico Series: Challenges in Deep Water Mexico
Mr. Chris Garcia will discuss some of the major challenges facing companies who want to explore for oil and gas offshore in deep water Mexico. The presentation will compare the differences and similarities between deepwater basins in Mexico and Gulf of Mexico USA and how they relate to well construction challenges. Mexico has drilled over 50 deepwater wells to date and this learning curve has been accelerated with application of technologies and processes. Other operational considerations include access to technology, logistics, regulations, HSE, and security.
