Shift 2-Volunteering at 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon - We Are Houston RunFest Services
Please join the SPE Young Professionals group as we volunteer at the Houston Marathon EXPO 2016 as part of the Green Crew - Recycling.
We will have two different groups. One helping at the refueling station from 6:30 am to 10:00 am and the second group helping from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on different activities at the RunFest, mostly recycling and educating tbe public on what to recycle.

To register for the first shift please go back to the events calendar, select the other SPE volunteering event on this day and register for the first shift which begins at 6:30 am.

Green Crew - Recycling Volunteers:
Scope of work
During the EXPO, Green Crew volunteers roam the area, educating the public on what can be recycled and how to divert trash from landfills. Volunteers will also assist EXPO vendors with any trash needs, sorting and disposing of it in the proper receptacle. Key roles are to help educate runners, spectators, and fellow volunteers on what receptacle to place their trash in (recycle or compost). Volunteers may also assist in bagging and transporting waste as needed.
This is an indoor job and requires a fair amount of walking. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Volunteers are provided with a Green Crew shirt, vest, extra rolls of liners, and latex gloves. Volunteers are expected to:

1. Register on SPE’s event site
2. Go to the marathon’s volunteer registration page (https://cloud.emos1.com/hou/volunteer/RegisterVolunteer.aspx?eid=8&JScript=1)
3. Fill out information (be sure to select ‘I am part of a group’ à click on Society of Petroleum Engineers – YP from the drop list)
4. Select shift: Green Crew – We Are Houston RunFest Services at 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
5. Fill out the application and click the register button
