Do you have the decision-making skills to succeed in the E&P business?

The 2015 SPE-GCS OilSim* Competition gives you the chance to prove it.

On Friday, April 10th 2015, eight teams will compete to build the best business plan in this fast-paced E&P simulation. You and your team will work together to manage a virtual oil & gas field. Guided by an experienced instructor, you will develop business plans that cover the full asset lifecycle —from exploration to final abandonment– using Schlumberger’s OilSim upstream learning simulator.

What is the OilSim Competition?

The OilSim Competition is a one-day oilfield simulation event organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast Section.  The event brings together competitors, volunteers, and sponsors to raise scholarship money for students who aspire to a career in the Petroleum industry. In 2014, SPE-GCS sponsored scholarships for 33 new, incoming freshmen and renewed 70 existing scholarships for previously sponsored students.

The competition challenges teams using three rounds of OilSim simulation based on oilfield lifecycle, including Prospecting, Exploration, Drilling, and Depletion Planning.  An experienced OilSim instructor guides each team through each round.
