Do the cre ated fractures propagate differently? Are the equations that govern produ ction different than in conventional reservoirs? This presentation will f ocus on how unconventional reservoirs are just an extension of the same re servoirs we have completed using hydraulic fracturing over the past 67 yea rs. Yes, there are differences. Yes, the treatment optimization process is more complicated. It has been complicated by the fact that now we have both a fracture treatment optimization and a well density challenge invol ved in the completion of a single well. This presentation will discuss th e optimization process for horizontal wellbores, the geometry of created f ractures in horizontal wells, and the fallacy of IP as an optimization par ameter. The economic process of optimizing completions in unconventional horizontal wellbores will be presented. It will be demonstrated that this process can be performed in a timely manner, and the results from a few w ells can lead to improved economics, the efficient use of capital, and imp roved profitability.--- This iCal file does *NOT* confirm registration.Eve nt details subject to change. ---\r\n\r\n--- By Tendenci - The Open Source AMS for Associations ---\r\n UID:uid3071@spegcs.org SUMMARY:WEBINAR ONLY - Westside: Optimizing Completions in Horizontal Wells DTSTART:20151021T170000Z DTEND:20151021T180000Z CLASS:PUBLIC PRIORITY:5 DTSTAMP:20240328T134608Z TRANSP:OPAQUE SEQUENCE:0 LOCATION:At your desk X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
