Description

We would like to cordially invite you to the inaugural “UPSTREAM OIL AND GAS PROFESSIONALS HIRING EVENT” initiative by the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Gulf Coast Section. We are striving to provide a platform for Upstream oil and gas employers and quality oil and gas professionals to interact and hopefully get hired. The primary objective of the UPSTREAM OIL AND GAS PROFESSIONALS HIRING EVENT is to connect job seekers with Upstream Oil and Gas Employers with open positions. Additionally, job seekers will have access to resources from a selection of sponsors, collaborating organizations, start-up employers and staffing agencies active in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry.

Whether you are a professional journalist, or a volunteer writer, please list the Publication for which you will be writing as your "Employer" when you register for your press pass, so that your name tag will properly identify you as a member of the press rather than a job seeker or an employer.

Event Description/Presentation Abstract: Pace: Life is a Marathon

Katie Mehnert is no stranger to loss.  She’s lost her job a few times, been fired, and lived to tell the stories.  The two-time cancer survivor who runs marathons nice and slow knows what it means to be in a constant state of transition.  For Katie, life and work are a marathon and it takes pace, grace, and will to see the finish line.  In March 2015 she poured her savings, severance, and belief into our industry by launching Pink Petro, a niche community geared at busting the gender gap and getting our industry the much-needed positive voice it deserves. Lace up your shoes and come learn about how you can manage this “marathon” of life and work and hear about Experience Energy™, a new careers site geared at helping the energy industry get back on its feet by bringing talent and opportunity together.
