Christopher D. Heinson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Office of Sanchez Energy (NYSE: SN). He also is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Office for Sanchez Oil and Gas Corporation, which he joined in March of 2013. He has served as COO starting January 2014 and was previously Senior Manager of Reservoir Engineering. As COO, Mr. Heinson oversees oil and gas operations, including business development, supply chain, exploration, production, corporate planning, engineering and land management.
Mr. Heinson has a strong background in reservoir engineering, business planning, and project management for upstream oil and gas operations. Before joining the company, he served as a senior planning engineer for Occidental Petroleum’s Williston basin division and staff reservoir engineer for Oxy’s Permian Basin division. He has extensive experience in a wide range of unconventional oil plays including the Permian Basin, the Bakken, and the Eagle Ford. Heinson also has comprehensive field redevelopment and enhanced oil recovery expertise.
Mr. Heinson holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin

Sanchez has a strong asset base with over 200,000 net acres throughout the Eagleford and about 3,000 drilling locations. Sanchez Oil and Gas’s proprietary planning tools and procurement strategies have allowed the company to become a manufacturing focused organization. The combination of optimized drilling and completions practices along with utilization of direct sourcing and vertical integration has resulted in total well costs decreasing in the Eagle Ford from over $10 million USD to below $3 million for a 6,500’ Eagle Ford lateral with 25 stages.
