Congratulations!  The Gulf Coast Section was selected to receive the 2004 SPE President’s Award for Section Excellence.  This prestigious award recognizes SPE sections whose efforts in member programs, technology dissemination, cooperation with other civic and professional organizations are exceptional and much more.

To acknowledge the section’s outstanding efforts, I would like to present the award to you at the President’s Luncheon that will be held Wednesday, 29 September 2004 at 11:30 a.m., in the George R. Brown Convention Center’s (GRBCC) George Bush Ballroom. You will be seated at a reserved table. SPE staff will be sending a packet of material including registration, housing and RSVP forms along with this correspondence. Please complete these forms and return them to SPE before the deadline of 16 August 2004 in order to assure your accommodations.

If you or your representative who will receive this award do plan to attend the luncheon, you must also make plans to attend the reception prior to the President’s Luncheon at 10:30 a.m. at GRBCC 301D right outside the ballroom where you will check in to receive your table assignment. We also request your attendance at the rehearsal for President’s Luncheon award recipients scheduled for Wednesday morning, 28 September 2004 at 9:30 a.m. in the George Bush Ballroom at GRBCC. At this meeting, you will receive specific instructions regarding the script and process for going on stage to receive your award during the luncheon.

A special highlight event of the 2004 ATCE is the Annual Banquet that will be held Monday evening, 27 September 2004 and we encourage you to attend. Also make a note on your calendar that the SPE Board of Directors reception honoring the 2004 award recipients will be held Sunday evening, 26 September.  You will receive a separate invitation to this event in the coming weeks.
