Sponsored by Society of Petroleum Engineers
Monday 1-Feb-10 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST
Intended Audience
This is an introductory Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) course and is appropriate for individuals who are new to the MPD industry or anyone who would like to expand their drilling knowledge.
Description
With most of the easy wells already drilled, MPD technique helps in drilling the wells with less Non Productive Time and in some cases drill previously undrillable wells. Upon completion of this course, participants will have knowledge of the various variations involved in managed pressure drilling operations; understand the safety and operational aspects of a managed pressure drilling project; and be able to make an informed selection of all equipment required to carry out a managed pressure drilling operation.
Topics Covered
♦ What is MPD?
♦ Objectives of drilling MPD
♦ MPD Variations
♦ Drilling Fluid Systems
♦ Surface equipment for MPD operations
♦ Completing MPD wells
♦ HSE Issues
♦ Limitations
