Event Description

Part 5 of the 5 part Expanding Facilities Knowledge Workshop will cover basic subsea equipment, maintenance processes, remote operated vehicles (ROVs), flowlines, umbilicals, risers, etc.
 
The Expanding Facilities Knowledge Workshop is aimed at imparting basic concepts and facilities knowledge to graduate new hires and summer interns of EP companies and contractors, while allowing opportunities for networking with other young professionals in the industry.

Comments

Pre-registration at this event is strongly recommended, as the event fills quickly and early.  Walk-ins are only accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, as space allows.
 
Presentation starts at 4 pm.  We recommend that you arrive at 3:30 pm if you are a walk-in or need to pay at the door.

Biography

Daniel Berman is a Subsea Operations Engineer for BP, supporting the Marlin, King, and Dorado fields.  Daniel graduated from Rice University in 2006 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Science.  Daniel has worked for BP for 3 years, starting as a Facilities Engineer supporting several natural gas fields in central Louisiana, then as an Offshore Operations Engineer for the Pompano Platform, before moving into the GOM Subsea Production Operations Group.  Daniel has been the primary Operations Engineer for the King subsea pumps since the start of 2009. Prior to working at BP, Daniel was a Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer at a major petrochemical plant in the Houston area.
 
Christa L. Lawson is the Subsea Delivery Manager on the Dorado Project. Christa graduated in 1997 from Ohio State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  She has over 12 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry in the GoM.  She began her career with Amoco as a Production Engineer in the GoM shelf and held various positions such as Facilities and Installation Engineer.  In late 2000, she joined the BP Deepwater Production unit in Houston as the Facilities Commissioning Engineer for MICA, a subsea tie-back project.  Following this, she assumed the role as a Quality/Integrity Assurance Engineer for several tieback projects. In 2002, she took a position as a Subsea Operations Engineer for the Nakika development in Define/Execute phase, and continued this role through commissioning, first oil, and first year operability.  In her current role with the  Dorado Project, she is responsible for the engineering design, delivery of subsea equipment, and commissioning of both subsea and topsides equipment for the project.
 
Arnold Eben is a Subsea Operations Engineer with BP.  Arnold, a national from Cameroon, graduated from the University of Dayton in 2007, with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. With almost 2 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, he plans and executes offshore subsea equipment maintenance and optimization interventions.  Arnold also coordinates the execution of subsea integrity management programs, developing appropriate tooling to meet the program requirements.  His experience includes well commissioning and handover, as well as vessel and ROV operations management.
