Details for "S&E: Carbon Sequestration and EPA’s Proposed Geosequestration Rule"

This event will provide background on options for carbon sequestration, with focus on geologic sequestration, and an overview of EPA’s proposed Geosequestration Rule.

Speaker Philip Dellinger

Philip Dellinger holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has two years experience with independent oil companies and has worked at the EPA Region 6 Office for 21 years. Most of Phil’s experience with the EPA has been in the Underground Injection Control Program, where he was responsible for implementation of the land disposal restrictions for hazardous waste injection wells. This involved geologic site assessments of 10,000 year “no migration demonstrations” for subsurface waste plumes. He also worked in EPA’s Superfund program where he was the Remedial Project Manager for ground water at the controversial Vertac (agent orange) Superfund site in Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Phil has been the Chief of the Ground Water/Underground Injection Control Section for the last 11 years.
