Details for "7th Annual PetroBowl 2008"

Please note:  All registration slots have been filled.  If you would like your school to be put on the waiting list, please email petrobowlchair@gmail.com with your school's name, your name and your contact phone number.

The PetroBowl competition matches four-person teams from participating universities against each other to answer questions ranging from the fundamentals of petroleum engineering to the history and current events of the oil and gas industry.  It allows students an opportunity to showcase their knowledge of the petroleum industry while proudly representing their schools at the conference.

Please scroll down to the “Schedule of Events” section for the registration link. You will be required to enter your student chapter contact information as well as names and emails of all team members, so make sure to have that information ready before registering.

Teams:

All SPE student chapters in good standing are eligible to compete. Teams consist of 4 players plus an alternate from each University who meet eligibility requirements. The competition is bracket style with single elimination rounds. Rules, regulations, and information regarding study materials about PetroBowl are located in the documents section. Please download and make sure your teams are familiar with them before the competition.

Travel Funds:

While there is no cost to participate and compete in PetroBowl, each team is responsible for its own transportation to and from the conference as well as all other costs associated with attending the competition. The PetroBowl Committee does not offer funds or scholarships, but we encourage you to seek your local SPE chapters and sections for available scholarships. Also, we encourage you to seek corporate sponsorship as many companies are happy to assist schools in sending students to the annual SPE ATCE conference.

Corporate Sponsorship:

If you are a company seeking to sponsor various activities related to Petrobowl, please contact the PetroBowl Committee chairs located at the bottom of this page.
