Details for "MAGIC SUITCASE PRESENTATION FOR TECHS"

This is specifically designed towards the technical support in our industry.  All techs should see this at least once.

The mission of the Magic Suitcase Program is to inform industry techs about the oil business, thereby increasing understanding of the science and engineering involved in our industry. The Magic Suitcase was developed to be a useful tool for speakers at career days, scouting events, National Engineers Week, civic clubs, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What age group is most appropriate for the Magic Suitcase? Many of the experiments are simplistic and highlight basic petroleum engineering concepts such as porosity, permeability, and density. However, these experiments can be complemented with a more detailed explanation.

Speaker Rob Bruant

Rob Bruant is a Petroleum Systems Analyst/Reservoir Engineer for BP America, Inc., overseeing Puma, Mad Dog, Holstein, and Atlantis fields (Southern Green Canyon, Deepwater Gulf of Mexico). He also serves as committee chair for the SPE-Gulf Coast Section Magic Suitcase committee. Rob has a B.S. degree from Franklin and Marshall College (geosciences) and Ph.D. degree from The University of Arizona (hydrogeology/chemical engineering). Prior to joining BP, Rob was a lecturer/research associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Princeton University .
